Approach
Our
Because we care
MHC provide compassionate, person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and behaviours that challenge.
We respect the individuals in our care for who they are; their needs, wishes and aspirations. We recognise the challenges they face with empathy and support.
Through positive meaningful relationships we set out to foster trust and safety which allows us to engage positively with new skills and development towards a more independent setting.
As people are unique, we do not subscribe to one methodology or one size fits all. Our skilled staff teams carry with them “a toolkit” and apply the most appropriate strategies from active support, positive behaviour support, trauma informed or sensory profiling.
For those individuals with enduring mental health conditions part of their programme is learning to accept, understand and manage their own conditions thus ensuring that they can progress to lead safe and purposeful lives. Where mental health deteriorates we can respond quickly, helping to reduce the likelihood of hospital admission wherever possible.
Within all of our homes we have created supportive environments tailored to meet the needs of those in residence. We have a mix of services; autism-focused residential, complex learning disability, dual diagnosis, tailored nursing support, and community-based homes that nurture recovery and independence.
Our range of residential services is designed to meet complex needs with dignity, understanding, and respect for each individual’s unique journey.
